Retired Widowed 2
After graduation, I attended the U of MN before moving to Colorado with my parents. While there, I worked at Western Electric and became engaged to Al Cook, a '62 Edina grad I met while working at Woolworth's in high school.  We married in 1965 and soon after he left for a tour with the Marines in Vietnam. When he returned, we moved back to MN and bought a home in Eagan. We were married for 44 years and raised two children together. Our daughter Amy is now 42 and our son, David is 39. I stayed home with our children when they were young while Al taught elementary school in Bloomington. In 1984 I got what I thought was a temporary job at the Girl Scouts. After 25 years with the Girll Scouts, I retired in 2009. That year I also said a sad good-bye to Al when he died of early-onset Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinsons, likely a result of Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. Today I enjoy seeing friends, singing with the Eagan Women of Note, traveling and spending time with my three (perfect of course) grandchildren. I volunteer regularly at their school, Richfield Duall Language School (Yes, that's right, my grandchildren are carrying on the Spartan legacy.) Naturally, I also enjoy being a Girl Scout leader with my granddaughter's 4th grade troop.

January 22, 1945 retired Married 3
In 1966, after graduating from Fairview Hospital School of Nursing, I followed my husband-to-be, David Rudberg, to Seattle, Washington.  In 1977, we moved with our three children, Lisa, Ken and Mike, to Vancouver, British Columbia.  We have loved living there all of these years, even becoming dual citizens of the USA and Canada.
My nursing career included Swedish and Group Health hospitals in Seattle.  In Vancouver, after completing a refresher course, I worked part-time for 27 years.. most of which was in the field of immunology or allergies.
Our three "children" are all married and have blessed us with the five smartest grandchildren ever born (really, I'm not kidding).
Retirement in 2009 has enabled us the opportunity to enjoy lots of travel... often to London, England to visit our son and daughter-in-law.  This always leads to travel somewhere in Europe while we are there.  Nice, France and Lake Como, Italy are my favorites.
We've also had fun travelling with Jean Nelson (Hanson) and her husband, Blair.. even as adventurous as Costa Rica.  And now the four of us will be joining you all in Bloomington at our own, could it possibly be ?? 50th RHS Reunion.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

When i think back on all the crap I've learned in high school (& college)

It's a wonder I can think at all

Though my lack of education hasn't hurt me much

I can read the writings on the walls

          Simon & Garfunkel Kodachrome Lyrics

Yeh, I did the college thing and even became a secondary school teacher for a short while (more crap discovered).  Found more satisfaction in pounding nails and building things.  Founded a construction company and later a design & building products & manufacturing company and even tried land development.  I find myself today supporting the frick'n IRS and the FED Central Bank (AKA BIG BROTHER) -- where is this land of the free?

Along the way got married to a still beautiful tolerant girl and with her help produced four great individualistic (all home schooled somewhat) good looking kids (still waiting for grandkids -- hint, hint).  Became friends with Bill W. & Company, thank God!

Enjoying the aches & pains of each day -- reminds you that you are still alive.  Some energy of mine is spent defending the U. S. Constitution and harassing bureaucrats -- politics for me is a great stress reliever and more fun than goldf.  Go Rand Paul in 2016!

Live on a hill in the woods overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.  What me worry?  See you and Alfred E. real soon.

I was a VISTA Volunteer in the War on Poverty in the late 60's.  I am married and have been for 45 years.  We have one son who is married and has 5 kids.  They live about 30 miles from us and he is currently in law school.  We both work for the United Methodist Church.  My husband is the president and publisher of the UM Publishing House - an interesting time to be in the book business.  I worked for United Methodist Communications and have retired but go back to work on special projects.  I was a video producer.  I now am a CASA volunteer - Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected and abused kids in the Nashville area.  We work with one child from the time he/she is in the court system until a permanent solution is found.  Sometimes adoption and sometimes back with their birth family.  I've been doing this for almost 9 years.

Retired Committed Relationship 2

After graduation I enlisted in the Navy and spent two years based in Norfolk, VA with sea duty on an aircraft carrier.  I attended Winona State College (now University) for two years before moving to Minneapolis where I attended Minneapolis Technical College and finally graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Business degree in 1976.  I worked as the accounting supervisor for the Mental Health/Mental Retardation and Chemical Dependency Programs in Hennepin County, followed by serving as the Business Manager at St. Cloud State University, and even later as the Accounting Manager for a large outstate HMO for United HealthCare.  For the last 16 years I again worked for the State of Minnesota in the Department of Human Services.  I recently retired from my latest position there as the Budget Manager for the Disability Services Division.  I was married and divorced twice in my early years and have two sons and four grandchildren.  Several years ago I met Judy Dickerson and we’re now in a ‘life partner’ relationship.  She graduated from RHS (Judy Schonhardt - class of ‘66) and also has two sons and four grandchildren.  We enjoy doing grandparent ‘stuff’ as well as travelling, biking and photography.  We are considering spending our winters where it’s warmer.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the 50th Reunion of the RHS class of 1963.
