July 12, 1945 Retired Committed Relationship 1

In a nutshell, after high school I went to the U of M, joined the U.S. Marine Corp., then graduated from Mankato State U. with a BS in Sociology, Criminology & Psychology.  In 1970 I was hired as a Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service.  I was priviledged to be assigned to the Presidential Protective Service and worked in The White House under two presidents.  After I left the Secret Service, I worked at the MN Attorney General's Office and investigated white collar crimes.  In 1992 I became a licensed Private Investigator and owned my own agency until I retired in 2008.  I now enjoy golfing, hunting, fishing, grandkids and spending winters in Arizona.  I hope to see everyone at the reunion!  It should be a lot of fun!

Sales Divorced 2
Still running my insurance business after 40 years and see no reason to quit now.  Spent a year after high school as a guest of the United States government in the Republic of Vietnam.  After leaving the Army, I got married and had two fabulous sons, became a friend of Bill W. in 1973.  Got divorced in 1980. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, hanging out at my northwoods retreat and riding my horse "Pete." I also golf with a few other RHS '63 duffers on a semi regular basis.  Looking forward to the big last reunion!

I retired 10 years ago from Northwest Airlines. Since then I have kept busy with travel, painting (art), camping, horses, and gardening on my hobby farm.
I recently went to Croatia/Slovenia and have been to many other exotic places. Moscow, Kenya, Prague, Costa Rica and Equador are among a few. I feel very fortunate with my many blessings and my career which gave me the opportunity to travel.
Of course, my children, grandchildren and horses are my top priority along with my best friend and partner, John.
Wishing all of you good health and friendship!

July 02, 1945 Commercial/ Industrial Real Estate Developer Married

It can't be 50 years, we aren't that old!  We all came from modest backgrounds, but we left RHS with a solid education, good work ethic and a great set of values.  We went in different directions and built our lives on that foundation.

I graduated as an engineer, but got bored thinking of ways on how to slit Scotch Tape.  Joined Dayton Hudson Properties and evolved into a commercial / industrial real estate developer.  Yes, Lloyd Fezler's physics class and Don Johnson's architecture and woodworking classes paid off.  To date, I have developed millions of square feet in 23 states and 8 foreign countries.  At the age of 31 met a very bright young lady orginally from Texas and eloped to Cartagena, Columbia (in the days before drugs & the Secret Service).  Our love of foreign cultures continues to allow us the opportunity to annually explore the globe.  Other than travel, hobbies continue to be auto related and as my tee shirt says, "Still Plays With Cars.....Really Fast German Ones".  Thirty years ago we moved from Arizona to Glencoe IL, a small Connecticut like village on Chicago's North Shore.  Our neighborhood has been the setting for numerous movies.

Both Sheri and I enjoy our respective careers and have no current plans on retiring.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the 50th, but I would encourage all of us to reach out to other classmates and encourage them to attend.

Widowed 2

I am a widower with two children.  I have a son (Lance) and a daughter (Melissa) and three beautiful granddaughters.  I obtained a degree in Civil Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering am now retired from the Federal Civil Service in the Air Force.

I was based in California and own the Rockin’ Three ranch in Lodi, CA.  Last week I was breaking a mare and she went down, rolled over and broke me.  I broke my back and pelvis and just got out of the hospital.  The doctor put two rods in by back and said my riding days are over.  I don’t like it but I’ll be fine.

I will not be able to attend the 50th reunion but I wish everyone a good time and best wishes to all of you, my classmates and friends.

July 13, 1945 Retired Married 2
After graduating from RHS, I attended Augsburg College and met my future wife, Gretchen, and my future business partner, on the first day.  I graduated from the U of MN in 1967. My plans to enter grad school were changed by a 4 year tour of duty in the USAF. I was a Distinguished Graduate of USAF Officer Training School and then served as the Chief of Administration at Sewart AFB before returning to USAF Officer Training School as an Air Officer Instructor. I then joined Strommen & Associates in 1971 and later become its co-owner and CEO and retired from there (then called Swenson Anderson Financial Group and now AdvisorNet Financial) 40 years later. I have been married to WGMBWFL (World's Greatest Most Beautiful Wife For Life) for 45 years. We currently live in Excelsior and have a condo in Naples, FL. so come on down in the winter. We are the proud parents of two fabulous children and the six cutest, best GRANDkids on earth!   :-) Send Wayne a MessageSend Wayne a Message
