July 11, 1945 Teacher Married 4
After high school I studied Mechanical Engineering at the U of M. While there, my teenage interest in amateur rocketry led me to work on a NASA rocket project.
In 1968 I became a Vista Volunteer serving in Arizona.
I'd been an avid rock climber since my pre-teen years, so I decided to try tree trimming and get paid for climbing. I formed a company which operated in Minnesota in the summers and California in the winters (we once trimmed a tree at Ronald Reagan's house).
In 1972 I met Nancy Wickersham, Edina (sorry). I eventually joined her at Cornell College in Iowa where we graduated in 1975. A year later we were married.
I taught high school Physics (yeah Fezler!) until 1981 when I patented a cross country ski exercise machine. Nancy and I founded Fitness Master, Inc. and developed, manufactured, and marketed various aerobic exercise equipment. We sold the company 5 years later, but I stayed on as VP till 1990. The company's top sellers were Jane Fonda's Walk to the Music Treadmill and the Total Gym.
Then came my best job ever: Stay-at-Home-Dad to four wonderful children.
Jason, now 34, just became principal timpanist for the New York Metropolitan Opera and has moved to NYC.
Justin, 29, attended Yale Divinity School receiving a degree in environmental ethics. He has since become a climate activist and training director for a major climate group.
Recently, Justin and over 50 other musicians and singers won their first two rounds on America's Got Talent. Next round: Aug 13th. The group is the Three Penny Choir and Orchestra.
Andrew, 26, is a Senior High Biology teacher at Fridley High School and also an improv comedian with two popular Minneapolis groups.
Katie, 22, just graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA with a degree in English. She is soon moving, at least for a while, to New Hampshire.
I have been semi-retired, mostly as a substitute teacher in Chaska since 1997. As a (very) amateur magician I start every class with an illusion -- it breaks the ice, gets their attention, and I rarely have the hassles to which most subs are subjected. The practice sometimes results in unique situations outside of school -- I will occasionally hear a cheer of "Hey, Magic Man!" from students at movies or restaurants. Recently a Latino young man (with his parents) walked up to me in Rainbow and said, "Hey señor Magic Man, can you show a trick to my mother and father?"

June 29, 1945 accountant Married 2
My husband, Blair and I have been married for 47 years. We have two children and five grandchildren. They live in the Twin City area so we attend many music concerts and sporting events. In 1986, I earned a degree from St. Thomas University in Quantitative Methods-Computer Science and Acounting. My career was spent in the accounting field. After some time in corporate, the remainder of the time has been devoted to the non-profit sector. I am currently working as an independent accounting consultant.
Blair and I love to travel and have enjoyed trips to Europe, Costa Rica, Hawaii and trips to the East and West Coast of the US. We have traveled with classmate, Audree Andersen Ruberg and her husband Dave. Audree and I are fortunate that the guys like to golf and we don't. We find other things to do and never run out of conversation.
I have kept in touch with Dick and Diane Gunderson. Through the years we have camped, vacationed and played a lot of cards together. It will be fun to reconnect with oher classmates-fifty years is a long time!!

June 28, 1945 Attorney www.blanchlaw.com Married 2
Wish I could attend the big 50th reunion but I will be in Tacoma, Washington, attending a family wedding. Here’s the elevator version of my biography: graduated from St. Olaf in 1967, married 45 years to my college sweetheart, Doug, two children, three grandchildren, taught school for ten years in four different states, went to law school at age 39 and have been practicing family law for 24 years after two years as an assistant district attorney in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Still enjoy running my own business, at least most of the time. Love to travel which is good because one child lives in Orlando and the other in Zurich! Have lived in the Houston area for 41 years and I still don’t have a southern accent, y’all!
February 28, 1945 retired contract computer programmer Married 2
The auto mechanic curriculum at Dunwoody nor Food Sciences at the U of M excited me. My brother-in-law recommended computer programming, so I enrolled in Control Data Institute. Ford Motor hired me out of school. Returning to Minneapolis, I worked at Marquette Banks for a decade. The rest of my career has been as a contract programmer with nearly 20 years of service at what is now Ameriprise.
Barbara and I were married in 1972 and had a son in 1976. We adopted our Korean daughter in 1979. Our first grandchild has just started to crawl!
Retired Divorced 2After going to the "U" I spent 7yrs with Honda then 16yrs with Apple. John Shields & I ran a small construction company till we both retired several years ago. Now I spend my time with my old cars ('57 T-Bird $ '65 GTO) and playing golf with Shields, Olson, Wilkowske, Danielson
Shimp and other old Spartans.
December 24, 1945 Retired Forester Married 3
After leaving RHS, I attended the U for 3 years, but skipped a quarter and got a notice to report for the Army physical. I didn't think I'd pass it, but I did, so I enlisted in the Marine Corps for the 2 years, going to Virginia and Viet Nam. I returned to the U, finished up a degree in forest management, and moved to Oregon. I worked 38 years for the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in Eugene, Lakeview, and Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Until the early 80's, I was single. My mom didn't like that, and for Christmas, one year, my present was a book, How to Find Love. The next year,my Xmas present was another book, Living Alone and Likeing It. Mom gave up on me! But in 1986, I met my Sweetie and we have 3 kids. We live on a 40 acre farm south of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and will soon be in an empty nest situation- - -something most of you have had many years to deal with already! September 13, 1945 Retired Committed Relationship 4Hello to all of our RHS Class of 1963 Classmates! We are looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming 50th Reunion! Classmate John Samuelson and I often say how lucky we are to have grown up in Richfield during the 1940's-1960's, when it was safe to be outside for hours on end, when we went to great new schools, had wonderful parks and programs to keep us busy and lived in an area where there were lots of kids our age.
John and I are now retired and have great kids and grandkids and good friends to keep our lives exciting. We have spent the past few winters in Arizona and appreciate how fortunate we are.
See you on August 11, 2013, if not sooner!

Am looking forward to reconnecting with all of you & reminisce about our days at Richfield High... can't belive it's 50 years! Loved driving that 63' VW -even though I rear ended Jenette Edberg's Edsel on the way to Sadie Hawkins Dance!
I attended U of M & Mankato State & earned my degree in Elementaty Education. Met my husband Glenn on a blind date set up by Gail Allen freshman year at the U. Four years later we married & now going on 46 years. He's a keeper! I taught 5 years in Minneapolis, took 13 yrs. off to raise our two sons & then back teaching for 17 more years! I managed to fit in a Master's in "Curriculum & Instruction" at U of St. Thomas during my last stint.
I've now been retired 10 years... Yes it's great! Four years ago we sold our home of 38 years in Eden Prairie & now have condos in Minnetonka & Palm Beach, FL. We have 3 granddaughters from son Matt & wife Corey... they live in Minnetonka... so get lots of family time with them! Our youngest son Wade is at Wells Fargo Mortgage & is also pursuing a Master's from Adler U in counseling. He has a wonderful girlfriend, Angie. Glenn retired from banking 6 years ago... so now we have more time to relax, travel & enjoy life!
Our favorite travels have included a 4 day stay in Fyvie Castle in Scotland. We participated in 3 Scottish Balls (YES... Scottish Country Dancing-though there's no Scottish blood in me!). We've also been in Denmark(my cousins),France, Germany & Italy. We're heading to Barcelona, Rome. Venice & Croatia this fall. I plan on seeing "in person" many of the pieces of art I studied during the last two years, while training to be an Docent for the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach-YEAH! I lead about 6 tours a month when we're in Florida.
I still enjoy being active (even with 2 knee replacements!) No more running... but walking, dancing & biking are my favorites. I took up making pottery on the wheel... no it's not like Demi Moore in "Ghost". I'm in 2 book groups that keep me current with my reading... enjoy plays at the Guthrie & I LOVE SUDOKU! (who would of thought my brain would work that way!) My Mom is 95 & still active... loves reading, bridge & keeping track of her grand & great grandchildren. We're working on her family history now. ANYWAY... that's about enough... See you soon!
